Reviews and Ratings
The hotel offers spacious and well-appointed rooms with a classic Shangri-la decor, providing a lot of food choices. The service was generally good, with extra efforts from some staff members, although a few areas lacked friendliness. The location stands out for its proximity to key attractions but could benefit from more localized services. The dining experience was excellent, offering a variety of tasty options. Overall, a comfortable stay with room for service improvement.
The hotel offers incredibly comfortable and spacious rooms with great river views, though some rooms in the old building may not be as good. The service is outstanding, with well-trained and friendly staff. The location is perfect in the new Pudong-Shanghai area, near iconic landmarks and shopping malls. The dining experience is top-notch, especially the expansive buffet overlooking Pudong/The Bund.
The hotel offers a stunning view of the Pudong river and high rises of Shanghai from some rooms but they felt a bit small, limiting relaxation. The rooms were brightly illuminated with colorful outside lighting. The service could improve in providing clear information in both English and Mandarin but excelled in solving the challenge of securing train tickets during a busy period. The location is superb, with easy access to key Shanghai attractions and a big shopping mall nearby. The dining experience showcased a diverse range of dishes in a 5-star environment.
Staying in the Grand Tower on the 25th floor with a great city view was amazing. The rooms were spacious and well-appointed, ideal for one or two people. The service was a mix of great customer care during breakfast guidance and helpful assistance but lacked refinement in some interactions. The location was perfect for exploring Shanghai’s attractions, especially the Bund, with a good mix of convenience and sightseeing opportunities. Dining options had high-quality choices but fell short of expectations for a hotel of this caliber. The hotel offers excellent facilities, especially appreciated by those exploring Pudong area.
The hotel offers a spacious room with a river view, but the overall experience is underwhelming for the price paid compared to other hotels in the area. The service is warm and helpful, although language barriers may be encountered. The location is excellent for sightseeing and shopping, but some entertainment options like HBO are missing. The dining options are good but not up to the expected level, especially for the price point. The facilities are moderate overall.
I had a premier room with fabulous views at the hotel, which was quite underwhelming for the price paid compared to other options in the area. The rooms were comfortable but lacked complimentary tea or coffee. On the bright side, the staff went the extra mile to ensure I had the room view I desired and even dressed up in a Santa costume, which was a fun touch.
